I'm Australian.
I live in Hawaii.
I have been running on and off for quite some time. Never anything crazy, just a mile here or there. I did complete a sprint triathlon years ago, around 2003. I don't know what time I finished it in, but I finished it! From there, I didn't really run much. Surfing took up much of my life, I lived in one of the most beautiful parts of Australia during my university years, the south-west corner of Western Australia, so I spent a great deal of my time in the water. I met who would be my future husband, and we travelled together all over the world surfing: Australia, Indonesia, the South Pacific, the US, Central America.
My real running story began when I moved to Florida at the end of 2010, by the end of 2011 I felt I needed to do something. I had always surfed, but there was no (decent) waves. I started running, and ran my first half marathon at the start of 2012. I remember people telling me I couldn't do it. I did. And I am going to keep doing it. I have completed 2 marathons, and maybe 5 half marathons - I really need to count them!
This is my training log. This is where I will keep myself accountable. This is where I hope to see my hard work pay off - I want to qualify for Boston. I know this journey will be a long one, but I am ready for it.
